Robin Harper

Robin Hopper is an internationally known potter, teacher, author, garden designer and arts activist.

Robin Hopper and partner Judi Dyelle are award winning and internationally known ceramic artists. Together, they operate Chosin Pottery, which offers a wide range of individual art pieces and functional ware. Robin is also a well-respected author in his field. His latest book (2005) is Making Marks: Discovering the Ceramic Surface.

As a potter, author and teacher, Robin Hopper's curiosity, scientific understanding and ongoing experimentation and exploration have resulted in a unique combination of form and color, glaze and texture. Robin has earned an international reputation in the field of ceramics and his work is in major collections worldwide.

Born in England in 1939, and trained at Croydon College of Art, he has developed studios in both England and Canada. The author of a growing catalog of books and countless articles, as well as being the host of thirteen educational videos, Robin is the Founder and Director of the Metchosin International Summer School of the Arts, which has been running since 1985

Robin is also very well-known for his garden which he has been working on for over 20 years. He has said his art and his garden feed off of and inspire each other.
